Four simple words, “A CALL TO ACTION”. The other day I was going through my personal library looking for a book. Yes a book! What a concept, not using the Internet for research. I came across one of my favorite books and expose on all the Medal of Honor recipients from the United States of America. It made me think about our great nation, the beautiful State Of California, opportunity filled Los Angeles, and our hometowns in the East San Fernando Valley. I ask myself an introspective question following those four simple words am I rising to “A Call to Action”?
About 2% of Americans of the 13-Colonies joined George Washington with “A Call to Action”, and the world was changed forever. Many passionate men and women followed one man, Abraham Lincoln, with “A Call to Action” to keep our country together and begin the process of stopping slavery… and the world was changed forever.
Some have said the “Greatest Generation” fought through the worst economic explosion, the “” Great Depression. Then they got hit with what could have knocked the lights out for America and England, WWII. All of our grandparents and for some, great grandparents, followed Franklin Delano Roosevelt after his speech, “This Day will live in Infamy,” and Winston Churchills’ great words “we will never, never, never quit.” Regular men and women stood up to “A Call to Action”, and the world was changed forever. Our men and women who answered “A Call to Action” in Korea and Vietnam paid a great price, and the world was changed forever. Today our so very young men and women have answered “A Call to Action” in a part of the world that is so different than our way of life; The Persian Gulf, Iraq, Afghanistan and anywhere they are asked to go, and the world was and has changed forever.
What are you doing, what am I doing, what are we doing? “A CALL TO ACTION” is needed now more than ever before for our blessed country. You and me, we need to stand up now, not next week, and make our government officials stop the corruption, or get rid of them. Tell our large corporations, “employ Americans or feel the heat and pain of us our turned backs on you. Let’s face the evils of our neighborhoods and unite together with our Police and Sheriff agencies and look Satan straight in the eye and say NOT HERE, NOT NOW, and NEVER AGAIN. If we answer this ‘CALL TO ACTION” then and only then will our world change for the better forever.
