I hope you are all having a very happy holiday season and I wish you a very safe and successful New Year!
I also want you to know how thankful I am for your continued support! It’s great to be back as Publisher and Editor of your Community Newspaper, the North Valley Reporter, (NVR). I was MIA (missing in action) because of a Stoke that put me out of commission for a while. But, through the grace of God, my family and friends, I am back and I intend for the NVR to go back to our monthly schedule with your help. We also have an updated and improved web site that can keep with breaking news. Advertisers can take advantage of a free ad with the purchase of a printed ad in the NVR at no extra charge
All persons, including myself, who are listed in the credits section of the NVR each month, are volunteers who help to keep us updated on the issues and events that affect all of us in the North Valley. Our motto is “Keeping you Informed.” We cover, but are not limited to, communities across the North Valley, and this is a great tool to help keep our stakeholders informed about important issues.
Your newspaper is a free, “No Profit” newspaper, rather than a “501c3 Non Profit” publication, in order that we can legally report on political issues. And, as you have noticed from our inception, in keeping with our Motto, all we do is report on those issues without offering editorial comment, although it is legally permissible to do so. We feel that it is our responsibility to provide you with enough information so that you are able to form your own conclusions.
All NVR income is generated by advertising which only pays for the printing and graphics. We have had to absorb many price increases due to increases in the cost of paper and graphic design. In fact, for many of our issues, our revenue-to-cost of publication has been so marginal that it has been a struggle to forward the NVR to the printer in a timely manner.
I am appealing to you, our readers, because we are in IMMEDIATE need of salespersons to help solicit advertising. We will pay a nice commission each time the ad you generate appears in the printed copy of the NVR as well our web site at no additional cost to our customers. I would be a great extra income for persons in between jobs, students wanting jobs and Senior Citizens with time on their hands. It’s not complicated nor extremely time consuming. Local businesses that you deal with on a regular basis might even be good, viable possible candidates: restaurants, florists, car washes, and specialty shops, and the like. If you or you know of anyone else who is interested in this position, please email me at: InformNVR@aol.com.
